Thunder Bay man dies in Niobe Lake crash

THUNDER BAY — A 39-year-old Thunder Bay man has died in a single-vehicle crash near Niobe Lake.

Ontario Provincial Police, in a release issued on Saturday, said officers from the Rainy River detachment were notified of the crash at about 7:45 a.m. on Saturday and proceeded to Hematite Road, joining Atikokan Fire and Rescue Service and Rainy River District EMS crews already on scene.

Jason Ramage, from Thunder Bay, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the crash is believed to have occurred between 7 p.m. on Friday night and 7 a.m. on Saturday.

The investigation is ongoing, with assistance from the OPP’s technical collision investigators and a reconstructionist.
