Master James Lee, Head Instructor Rick Thibodeau, and Master Jason Kim coached the athletes in both poomsae (patterns) and full contact kyorugi (sparring).

It was a long day with lots of amazing moments of fortitude, match management, and courage, Kim said, all culminating with a club trophy.

The athletes cumulatively secured three gold, nine silver, and eight bronze medals. Calum Thibodeau faced off with fierce competition for his gold medal in poomsae while Sherra Westerveld dominated both poomsae and sparring to obtain two gold medals.

KT Tae Kwon Do wanted to send thanks to all of the friends, family, and supporters of its athletes. The championships were the first sanctioned in-person tournament in two years.

“It’s an event we’ll never forget,” Kim said.
